Competris
Payment transparency

How payments work

Competris keeps organiser payments and platform charges separate.

1
Entrant chooses a paid competition

The competition price and organiser are shown before payment.

→
2
Stripe processes payment for the organiser

The charge is created directly on the organiser's connected Stripe account.

→
3
Competris confirms the entry

After successful payment confirmation, Competris records the ticket against the competition.

Entrant payments

Competris does not hold competition entry funds

  • Paid entries go directly to the organiser's connected Stripe account.
  • The organiser is responsible for entry payments, refunds and prize fulfilment.
  • Competris stores payment references needed to operate and audit the competition.
  • Full card details are handled by Stripe, not stored by Competris.
Competris charges

Organisers are billed separately

  • Paid plan subscriptions are charged to the organiser's registered card.
  • Applicable commission is calculated once when a paid competition ends.
  • The competition's agreed commission rate is locked for that competition.
  • A commission invoice and payment record are retained in the organiser account.
Need help with a payment?

Contact the organiser first

Because the organiser receives the entry payment directly, they are the first point of contact for payment, cancellation and refund queries. For serious concerns, open the relevant competition and use Report organiser so Competris can review it with the correct context.
